  • Interests

Numerous topics come to mind when thinking to describe my interests. I selected two: reading and papers.

A simple LibraryThing list of books I read is added to visualize my reading interest. The different subjects explained in the books are a nice overview of my personal interests.

On some of these topics I have written papers, these can be downloaded free-for-use here.

    • Papers

Service Oriented Architecture and Data Warehousing, on the realization of high quality data. Download.

Verification of RoseRT models using Petri nets. Download.

The formal verification of Rose RealTime software models using Petri nets, master thesis. Download.

Software Technology Application Management, what are success factors influencing the acceptance and improvement of requirements processes in an organization? Download.

      Semantic Web Visualization. Download.

  • Experience

How can one's experiences ever be described on a single webpage? This is an impossible task to ask. This beign so have I tried to come up with a few example projects and strategy subjects I have worked on in the past.

Those understanding the subject nature and able to abstract over the examples at hand should see the greater picture of challenges catching my interest.

    • Projects

  • Programming

~ The programmer, like the poet, works only slightly removed from pure thought-stuff. He builds his castles in the air, from air, creating by exertion of the imagination. Few media of creation are so flexible, so easy to polish and rework, so readily capable of realizing grand conceptual structures.

Yet the program construct, unlike the poet's words, is real in the sense that it moves and works, producing visible outputs seperate from the construct itself. It prints results, draws pictures, produces sounds, moves arms. The magic of myth and legend has come true in our time. One types the correct incantation on a keyboard, and a display screen comes to life, showing the things that never were nor could be.

Programming then is fun because it gratifies creative longings built deep within us and delights sensibilities we have in common with all men. ~

The mythical man-month. Frederick P. Brooks, Jr.

The endless creativity with which programmers create extraordinary solutions never seizes to amaze me. The ones I created (that is: when I still had time to do so...) are shared on two pages: tools (as in applications) and web solutions.

    • Tools

Some of the tools that are worth sharing. No warranty's, no planned further development, just the tool.

PC TakeOver Suite, a Java tool to control Winamp, PowerPoint and computer volume with a Nokia 6600 (essentially every Nokia with the same software stack) over a Bluetooth connection. Note: last release was in 2005, using one of the first Java Bluetooth stacks. Download sources

Relais Board Controller, a Delphi tool to control a serial (RS232) relais board. Sequences are programmed in XML, up to 255 cards can be connected to control 8 ports each. Example switching sequences are included with the binaries. Download sources - Download binaries

    • Web

Most of the web solutions are created for clients of my company, LionPages. Therefore, source code cannot be shared. But as they might serve as a source of inspiration the most interesting ones are described on this page.

Ricoh Webticket, part of the Ricoh PrintTicket suite (@PrintTicket). WebTicket enables customers to specify a printjob for a central repro. The solution calculates the price and automatically sends it to the repro (or even the printer) after user confirmation.

XSPlatforms calculation module , a highly AJAX based application in which users can create, store and modify calculations for the suspended platform and lifeline protection systems.

Smaller, older projects, deweijertelektro.nl, slenderstudiomaasenwaal.nl, and many more.
